主讲人简介:

Professor Jiang Yu gained his Ph.D. in cell biology in Yale University in 1995 and spent four years as a postdoc at Yale afterwards. 2000-2008 He was assistant professor in the department of Pharmacology and Chemical Biology in University of Pittsburgh and became associate professor since the year of 2008.

His team currently studies the signaling mechanisms of the mTOR pathway and the role of the pathway in tumorigenesis. They have previously identified FKBP38 as the endogenous inhibitor of mTOR and demonstrated that Rheb small GTPase activates mTOR by antagonizing the inhibitory action of FKBP38. These findings elucidate an important signaling mechanism of Rheb and have made significant contributions in understanding of mTOR regulation.
